ABOUT The CovHack
COVID-19 has revealed the shortcomings of the current global food supply chain system. The need to pivot towards a more local circular economy could not have been more evident. As we shift into new normal with increasing unpredictability, the COVID-19 crisis has triggered us to move away from our past linear ways of consumption – produce, use, discard – into more sustainable ways of living where we reuse and recycle.
The CovHack Innovation Challenge welcomes disruptive entrepreneurs, SMEs, innovators, young professionals and tech talents that can envision a different promising future daring to cross "business as usual" or "normalcy" as we know it.
WHY CIRCULAR ECONOMY FOR FOOD
The CovHack Innovation Challenge seeks to discover innovative ways of building resilience in local and global food supply chains though shifting towards a Circular Economy in the Post Covid-19 World.
The theme Circular Economy for Food corresponds with the UN's Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 12): Responsible Consumption & Production .
